Mixxture Beauty was founded with one goal in mind: to make safe and effective products using only natural ingredients. Our commitment to using only food-grade and plant-based products is unwavering after spending years perfecting our formulas. Below is a list of all of the ingredients that we use, along with a brief description of what that ingredient is used for and a hyperlink to the EWG Skin Deep database for product safety. 

 

 

Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) – a widely used and well-known plant with benefits ranging from moisturization to lowering blood sugar!

 

Pyrus Malus (Apple Seed Oil) – contains Vitamin B2 and Biotin (B7) which are regarded as some of the most effective nutrients to promote the strength and growth of your hair

 

Argania Spinosa (Argan Oil) – contains fatty acids and Vitamin E that help prevent both dry and fizzy hair

 

Attalea Speciose (Babassu Oil) – high in antioxidants that moisturize your hair without the greasy feeling. Great at keeping moisture in and preventing breakage

 

Bergamia (Bergamot Fruit Oil) - an essential oil with anti-inflammatory properties that promote a healthy scalp. Also known for its stimulating properties that can promote hair growth

 

Biotin (Vitamin B7) - one of the most common vitamins that helps your body produce keratin, one of the main components of your hair

 

Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli Seed Oil) - a non-greasy emollient that penetrates and softens hair easily and acts as a safe and effective alternative to Silicon in haircare products

 

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) - shea butter comes from the fruit of the Butyrospermum Parkii tree and is a natural moisturizer!

 

Calendula Officinalis (Calendula Flower Extract) - promotes the growth of collagen, an essential protein for skin health, and know for its strength in fighting eczema, dermatitis, and dandruff by hydrating and nourishing the skin

 

Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea Extract) - green tea is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals that are attributed to a wide range of benefits, from UV protection to acting as an anti-cellulite and decreasing sebum production (sebum is what causes your skin to become excessively oily)



Cannabis Sativa - (Hempseed Oil) - a great natural moisturizer, hemp oil is known for its soothing properties and has become one of the fastest growing products in the industry as people have continued to be amazed by its effectiveness over the past few years

 

Cedrus Deodara (Cedarwood Oil) - once used in Egyptian embalming, cedarwood oil’s antifungal properties along with its strong aroma makes it a great way to avoid using preservatives when possible as well as an effective insect repellent!

 

Cellulose Gum - made from plants, cellulose gum is a pH neutral compound from the cell walls of plants that serves as an effective method of adding thickness to our products without compromising their safety

 

Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract) - first popularized for hair and skincare products in South Korea, Gotu Kola is rich in antioxidants and amino acids that are great for hydration

 

Cera Alba (Natural Beeswax) - straight from the honeycombs built by bees, beeswax is know for its anti-inflammatory properties and is great for the scalp as it creates a thin, protective layer about the skin that helps prevent the loss of moisture that commonly leads to dandruff and dermatitis

 

Ceteareth-25 - a safe emulsifier that is commonly used to enhanced a product’s ability to penetrate your hair and skin in order to allow them to take full effect

 

Citric Acid - known to improve blood circulation to the hair follicles, citirc acid exhibits antioxidant properties and removes excess oil from your scalp by balancing its pH level and relieving dermatitis and dandruff

 

Citrus Limonum (Lemon Oil) - lemons are rich in Vitamin C and have strong antibacterials properties which make them excellent for naturally fighting off harmful bacterium that can lead to a wide array of problems

 

Cocamidopropyl Betaine - derived from coconuts, this surfactant basically serves as a way to keep dirt and grime that is often carried by water out of your products. Since it’s derived from coconuts, it has hydrating and nourishing properties and can also help to increase lather in shampoos

 

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil) - packed with hydrating vitamins and minerals, coconut oil is known to strengthen hair and to fight off free radicals

 

Commiphora Myrrha (Myrrh Oil) - sourced from a tree native to the Middle East and known for its Biblical refrences, Myrrh is great as a fragerence and its antibacterial properties help to keep some harmful bacteria out of your hair

 

Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber Fruit Extract) - a deep moisturizer that is an effective protectant and eliminates free radicals

 

Decyl Glucoside - a gentle and biodegradable glucose-based surfactant that is used to keep dirt and grime out of your products

 

Dimethicone - this silicone-based compound is an essential ingredient for our conditioners - it’s what leaves your hair soft and shiny!

 

Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate - a natural surfactant used to keep dirt and grime out of your products

 

Distilled Water - we used distilled water (pure H2O) to keep the unwanted contaminants commonly found in tap water away from your products

 

Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus Leaf Oil) - known to treat dandruff and scalp irritation, as well as promote hair growth by stimulating the hair follicles

 

Polyquaternium 7 - used to prevent the buildup of static electricity and frizzy hair

 

Glycerin - a naturally produced moisturizing emollient that enhances a product’s ability to be absorbed into the hair

 

Glyceryl Cocoate (PEG-7) - an emollient derived from coconut oil that enhances a product’s ability to be absorbed into the hair

 

Hydrogenated Castor Oil - an emollient derived from castor seeds that moisturizes and enhances a product’s ability to be absorbed into the hair 

 

Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey - a powerful moisture binding and conditioning agent that is pH neutral and therefore doesn’t negatively react with other compounds as many conventional conditioning agents do

 

Laminaria (Algae Extract)- sourced from algae, this extract is recognized by the National Institute of Health to promote hair growth and thickening!

 

Lanolin - an anti-inflammatory moisturizer that works particularly well with damaged hair

 

Lecithin - lecithin is a core part of the structure of every cell in our bodies and is essential for preventing the hardening of cell membranes while still retaining liquid. By using it in hair products, we prevent hair from becoming brittle and dry

 

Macrocystis Pyrifera (Sea Kelp Extract)- kelp is known to be rich in Iodine and other vitamins and minerals, making it an excellent tool for strengthening dry hair

 

Manuka Honey - manuka honey is produced by bees in New Zealand using the nectar of the manuka flower and is particularly good at retaining moisture, both in the hair and on the scalp

 

Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Oil) - hair can often become saturated with chemicals and dead cells - tea tree oil is great at preventing those from building up and causing dandruff while promoting a normal rate of growth

 

Mentha Piperita (Peppermint Oil) - known for its strong fragrance, the menthol content is also known to increase blood flow to hair follicles which may promote hair growth

 

Mica - a silicate mineral that adds a white sparkle to some of our products 

 

Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin Seed Oil) - known to stimulate hair follicles to promote growth and believed to slow the graying of your hair

 

Oat Amino Acids - derived from the proteins found in oats, they make an excellent addition to any conditioner

 

Olea Europaea L. (Olive Oil) - particularly good at softening hair, olive oil makes a great conditioning agent

 

Optiphen (Preservative) - for products that contain water, using preservatives is necessary so that the product doesn’t grow bacteria or mold and expire just days after being produced. Organic Honey (Humectant) - another type of honey that comes as a liquid to provide the same moisture-retaining benefits as Manuka Honey in a different form

 

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide - 7- two amino acid-rich proteins that are commonly used together to strengthen the structure of your hair through increased collagen production

 

Panthenol - a provitamin of B5 that enhances its hydration capabilities

 

PEG-6 and PEG-150 - PEG stands for Polyethylene Glycol, and these are two different variants derived from jojoba wax and capitalizes on its moisturizing capabilities

 

Persea Gratissima (Avocado Oil) – a rich oil containing antioxidants, mineral, and vitamins that promote the health, strength, and moisture of your hair while also reducing frizz

 

Phenoxyethanol (Preservative) - for products that contain water, using preservatives is necessary so that the product doesn’t grow bacteria or mold and expire just days after being produced. Rest assured that Phenoxyethanol has been studied extensively without any finding of danger in small doses. At Mixxture Beauty, we are always 100% committed to safety above everything. 

 

Polyquaternium 7 - works great as a hair conditioning agent and helps to smooth your hair, making it easier to detangle. Also great for leave-in products!

 

Polysorbate 20 and Polysorbate 80 - two similar emulsifiers that are known to rid the hair follicles of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which has been linked to hair loss and balding. They’re both safe and are used in a wide variety of products from food to vaccines!

 

Potassium Sorbate (Preservative) - for products that contain water, using preservatives is necessary so that the product doesn’t grow bacteria or mold and expire just days after being produced. Potassium Sorbate is widely used in food products and is safe even in high concentrations. At Mixxture Beauty, we are always 100% committed to safety above everything. 

 

Propanediol - a safer alternative to the widely used Propylene Glycol, Propanediol is a humectant that enhances your skin’s ability to absorb a product

 

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond Oil) - almond oil acts as a penetration enhancer that allows your hair to better absorb our products

 

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot Kernel Oil) - an excellent natural hair conditioner, apricot oil is packed with vitamins and oleic acids that soften and moisturize your hair while also preventing split-ends

 

Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary Oil) - known to increase blood circulation at the scalp to promote hair growth while also serving as a great fragrance

 

Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract - sources from the berries of palm trees, it’s rich in antioxidants and Vitamin E and can enhance hair growth



Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil) - a moisturizing essential oil that’s especially soothing to the scalp and great for use in curly hair!

 

Sodium Benzoate (Preservative) - for products that contain water, using preservatives is necessary so that the product doesn’t grow bacteria or mold and expire just days after being produced. Sodium Benzoate is known to be one of the safest preservatives as it is derived from Benzoic Acid, which occurs naturally in many plants from apples to cinnamon. Sodium C14-16 Alpha Olefin Sulfonate - the name may be misleading, but this is not a sulfate. It’s much safer, made of a different chemical structure than sulfates and is incredibly effective as a cleanser in shampoos.

 

Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate - a coconut-based surfactant that helps cleanse your hair and provide a lather to shampoos

 

Squalane Oil - Squalane Oil is a hydrogenated version of Squalene Oil, which is produced naturally by your body for hydration. Squalene production decreases naturally with age, and adding Squalane Oil to products helps your hair and skin absorb your body's natural moisturizer 

 

Sulfosuccinate - another misleading name, this is not a sulfate but an emulsifying surfactant that is known to be an incredibly gentle cleanser

 

Theobroma Cocoa (Cocoa Butter) - one of the best natural emollients for softening hair and skin as well as fighting off irritation

 

Triticum Vulgare (Wheat Germ Oil) - derived from wheat, this oil serves as an excellent conditioning agent 

 

Vegetable Glycerin - a naturally produced moisturizing emollient that is specifically derived from vegetables that enhances a product’s ability to be absorbed into the hair

 

Vitamin B3 (Niacin) - Vitamin B3 plays an important role in promoting blood flow circulation which is essential for the growth of hair

 

Vitamin E Oil (Tocotrienols) - Vitamin E promotes healthy hair and is an essential part of any conditioner

 

Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed Oil) - makes a great moisturizer and is a natural treatment for brittle and dry hair

 

Xanthan Gum (Thickener) - a natural thickener that prevents ingredients from separating and maintains the desired texture of a product
